Hello,
I saw that some forum users are also active on Facebook platform. Thanks for all of those are answered about the English poll mag question.
So it's launched. I'll prepare the page templates (should be A4 format but i hesitate between formats : A4, A5 or like CEOMag) and i hope i'll receive articles this month. May be i'll ask to create a readers committee end of march to ensure that technical articles are correct.
Information and future mag will be stored on ceo.oric.org (without any access needed) : https://ceo.oric.org/contribute-to-oricmag/
I hope this trial will have some good feedbacks in Oric Community and by advance thanks to all future writers.

Re: OricMag 001
Getting contributions was always the big issue for us in the UK. It needs some people with expertise and time to dedicate. I never had the expertise and now I don't have time! I hope there are people willing to write some articles as there does seem to be interest in the Oric still with the new hardware and such. Maybe some guides on how to use these devices would be useful as it isn't always clear how they work?
It will be interesting to see how the mag does in this era with Youtube and Facebook etc for competition.
Good luck. Best wishes!

Re: OricMag 001
One thing that may help OricMag is that apparently it's going to be available to everybody.
My main reason for stopping participating to the CEO Mag (other than time obviously) is that it's still behind fences, and I'd rather spend my time write blog posts, articles and make videos than publishing something which is restricted to the subset of people who are members of the CEO.

Re: OricMag 001
One issue being that it's hard to avoid repeating all over again what has already been said before. Makes it then difficult for a lot of people to contribute or to be convinced that a given subject might be of interest.
Is there any kind of editorial line, of specific readers in mind ? Beginners ? Veterans ? Both ? (I guess that's the last one
). There is a topic on Atari Age forum which I find is a good starting point : Topic for newbies or veterans returning to Atari. It helps at the same time veterans to catch up with what has been done since 19XX when they left, while offering to newcomers an insight of basic considerations on what to do, where to go etc.

Re: OricMag 001
That's a fair point.
Actually what Oric Mag could do, is to for example re-publish some of the "must have" or "best of" articles of legacy sources, like from CEO Mag, Théoric, Micr'Oric, Hebdogiciels, etc... but translated to English for example.
Not everything has to be new: There's a lot of stuff around that most people don't know about, either because it's too old, they never heard about it, it's not in English, or it's not publicly available.

Re: OricMag 001
I agree with Dbug. Translating/republishing the best articles from other magazines could be a great idea.
And also about the scene from 199x till today. Dig in the old comp.sys.oric group, the first emulators, the first toolchains and how it all evolved could be made into a nice series.
There are great milestones in that history, from the Oric web ring to the Defence-force site and forums, the OSDK, oricutron, the development of the first microdisc clones and devices such a cumulus, making disk systems available to most of us, and finally the devices we have today (Erebus and Loci, IJK interfaces, even Oric clones!).

Re: OricMag 001
Hello, thanks for these feedbacks.
I agree that the number of writers could be a problem. There're a lot of topics which could be used as for examples old software review ... but I don't have enough time to create too much articles myself (i'll do some small ones)
Target is all oricians : experts or not (however i think that experts don't need a new ressource). I hope that people who are sharing some topics on facebook or some other instant flows will support as the mag will have a permanent access to information on the web.
Up to now, i've only received articles from CEO french members who support the idea.
Some articles received for 1st issu :
_ Zorgon : Keyboard Revenge
_ Hardware : K7EMU
_ Mieyen quick review
_ Rain Panic review
I hope i'll receive some others. Publish date will be later if i don't have enough materials (and i'm already late on my timeline).
