Re: New tape fileformat (.ort)

Thanks for the details, I now finally got it ;-) That's intersting ! Still willing to help testing when you need it  PS: to complete the discussion about nowadays WAV format: it compresses in ZIP in a perfect way, since the signal is cleaned and the values used are always the same. Being able ...

Re: Euphoric on a mobile device?

Point 3 is not fair, Fabrice has shown the contrary even if it's not "true" anymore. Without him The Oric community will be long dead. Bloody right. BTW, Fabrice stepped back a little in the shadow but he's still contributing (Euphoric 1.014 has been released last month). Anyway I don't I...

Re: New tape fileformat (.ort)

whats happening if there's a data byte on the original program whose value is FF? nothing. Read it more carefully :) Ok, I did and just understood that, by reading a (PC) byte, the value it holds defines a (Oric) bit  So you are using the higest values to do something else (I'm writing live a...

Re: New tape fileformat (.ort)

BTW I must confess I haven't really understood the decoding process (what's happening if there's a data byte on the original program whose value is FF?), but if you ever need some conversion testing or exotic WAV files from protected tapes, I have quite a collection, just let me know when you'll be ...

Re: Euphoric on a mobile device?

I would add that, whatever the qualities or defaults, it's not a bad thing to have different emulators, with different ways of doing things. I'm still almost exclusively using Euphoric (being used to it) but I'm more than happy to know that there's an alternative which brings new options I might be ...

Re: Welcome to forum.defence-force.org 2.0

Ok, thanks, he told me he'll try again. Just to let you know: at his 1st attempt, hitting the "register" button lead him to an error page. Maybe he tried while you were still migrating!

Re: Euphoric : Last build, loading wav

I'm using the exact same version of Tap2wav.

About files, I don't know, maybe you ISP allows you to store files, or maybe you can get a FTP access here (need to ask Dbug). Since Megaupload closed, I don't know if there are free file servers still running?

Re: Euphoric : Last build, loading wav

Ooops my bad if Zorgon was OK! I tried Mushroom Mania from Oric.org, it worked fine too. Wanted to try Cyclotron but didn't find it on Oric.org? Now as said Dbug, the most interesting test would be that you store your WAV files somewhere so we can try them. This way we'll be able to know it the prob...

Someone I know tried to open an account yesterday, but it seems it didn't work.
Don't have much more details but he's no rookie, so maybe something's wrong while subscribing?

Re: Euphoric : Last build, loading wav

Well, I downloaded Zorgon from Oric.org, converted it to WAV with Wav2tap, and loaded it without any problem with Euphoric 1.014. :?

Well, certainly CSAVE saves an extra garbage byte at the end of basic programs. Also most tap files from the internet are 1 byte shorter that the Rom routines try and read. I don't get it - if it was so, these files would not load on Euphoric or real Orics. Where did you get them from? That being s...

I think the .4K8 format that once was used by Euphoric was close to what you want to achieve, but Fabrice dropped it for (bigger) WAV because people didn't undertand what 4k8 was. CSAVE "",A#C000,E#C010 actually saves 17 bytes. Which seems absolutely normal, am I wrong? #C000 to #C010 mean...

I must confess I absolutely don't understand what's happening with your wav files. Oric-1 emulation should load as the Atmos does (except the loading name doesn't appear after "Loading .." if you used CLOAD""), and then simply just maybe crash at the end of the loading.
