Re: Clock Signal — an Oric emulator for macOS and Linux
Thanks for taking my wish so serious :). I checked the latest release (MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3). It works fine with DSK images. I like especially 'Options' and the way to quick switch RGB/Composite. Screen Shot 2018-03-23 at 21.53.44.jpg But none of my HFE images are working. :( I use the command ...

Re: Connectivity problems...
In all really rare cases when defence-force.org was inaccessible I feel how important is it for me.
Thanks for everything you do, Dbug.

Re: Oric DSK Manager
Build from sources worked for me. There are problems with few images, but most probably the images are bad.
I like the possibility when dropping more images to merge their content. Nice structured application.
Well done!

Re: Development of Blake's 7 (was OASIS development)
Attached is the quick hack writedsk2f (source & dos executable). It should always format tracks before writing. It's only proof-of-concept. I agree to wait Fabrice's approval for any further releases! Also having always-format as option is very good idea. In source is implemented a workaround wh...

Re: Development of Blake's 7 (was OASIS development)
... the interesting part: writedsk2 first tries to write the sectors and if the operation fails then it formats the track and repeat the writing... He, I was close in my guess, "just" my conclusion was wrong :). Anyway, it's easy to change writedsk2, so it always first formats the track w...

Chema, what model is your Oric floppy? Else I guess you are using Silicebit's controller, right?

This is great! Thanks, Dbug. I'll check the news and will do test with real HD/DD floppies asap.

Re: Development of Blake's 7 (was OASIS development)
Thanks for the image, Chema! Things getting more mysterious for me :)... But first sorry for my bad suggestion in my previous post, that FloppyBuilder doesn't implement interleave - I wrongly mixed the 'geometry' value with the 'interleave' - they are completely different things. I compared your tes...

Re: Development of Blake's 7 (was OASIS development)
@Chema: May I ask you for the image file with interleave 5, which you used for test? I want to repeat your tests with and I can do some low level analyse on PC to see how different are the HD/DD floppies.

Re: Development of Blake's 7 (was OASIS development)
Ups, the SVN version of FloppyBuilder has code which deals with sector order (I have to update my OSDK ).

Re: Development of Blake's 7 (was OASIS development)
I am quite sure that writedsk2 writes the sectors in the order in which they are stored in the dsk image, which is with the interleave of 5. Agreed, sectors are written in order as stored in the image file! But FloppyBuilder (all versions) doesn't use interleave param to re-order sectors when build...

Re: Development of Blake's 7 (was OASIS development)
Very interesting case! In my opinion the magic here is the interleave, but NOT the one you specified as parameter (i.e. interleave 5)! From source of writedsk2 it's obvious that parameter 'geometry' is not used at all. And here comes the interesting part: writedsk2 first tries to write the sectors a...

Re: Experimental very fast tape loading
Hm, this is interesting and I think you are right about the bad values in decompression - because bytes are looking somehow shifted but they still 'hires-correct' bytes :) i.e. there are no strange or wrong colors and pixels. I looked in Fabrice's chronometer source, but it's very specific to his Ta...
