Re: Defender..auto regenerated?

In oricutron you can add "mem" breakpoints: The debugger will stop when this memory location is accessed, possibly that could help find where this other routine is?

Re: 8Bit Unity now supports Github Actions for builds

With this in place, artists can join the project, make modifications to the assets, and push their changes to their own repo - getting a .DSK file to test with, as a result. Without once touching a command line ... So, how would you recommend the artist get the assets from github, modify them, and ...

Re: 8Bit Unity now supports Github Actions for builds

I think that people who change the source code of the app will still have to be able to build locally for testing their mods before committing. But it's very convenient for people who only want to work on artistic part of a game because they don't have to install a build environment. Is that not do...

Maybe specify CMD.EXE instead of just a batch file.

Re: is it possible to convert Knight Lore to Oric ?

Using the two bits for mask handling is something Twilighte used on a number of projects. Regarding the memory usage, the Oric should probably not be any worse than the Spectrum, because if you are not using the system and target disk drive, you can freely use: - The page 2 - The entire memory area ...

Re: New Oric Project. The OriClone-1

I mean, if there is to be a next-Gen Oric design, having multi-core Oric's doing video interlacing seems kind of intrinsic .. not suggesting anyone butcher their Oric's to build one, but certainly if there are FPGA chops in the crowd, we could take the idea and run with it. Well, technically there ...

Re: 8bit-Unity version 0.3.5

Is it technically possible to make that on option, like the Oric could set some other value?

I'm thinking of other uses of the hub, like making a painting program for example, something where the pixel accuracy is actually important.

Re: Upcoming brand-new Oric text adventure

I need to point out that there's been some heroic efforts from Fabrice and Chema in trying to get the old code to compile "clean" with the modern tools, and if that happens, we may release the entire source code of the new "clean" Pinforic so it does not get lost and other people can make Z based ga...

Re: What about creating game compilations?

I like the idea of a "Defence-Force Compilation of Greatest Adventures vol. 1" too :) ! Themes are good: - Adventures games (Maybe separate "text adventures" from action/adventure with graphics, etc...) - Arcade ports (Pac Man, Galaga, Defender, ...) - Games that exist only on the Oric (random exam...

Re: is it possible to convert Knight Lore to Oric ?

Imo, you should start by looking at the closest thing on the Oric: Space 1999.

The source code is available, Chema even documented the principles behind what he did, and he probably some good ideas about how feasible that is :)

Re: 8bit-Unity version 0.3.5

My DELL mouse is now kind of working, the only weird thing is that the X position only goes between 0 and 159 instead of 0-239 (the Y position correctly goes from 0 to 199, and the three buttons work)

Re: What about creating game compilations?

That adds up to 550Kb, so there is room for some more you already mentioned. Need to remember that some people have single sided 3" drives, some have double sided 3" drives (360k), and some have 3.5" drives (720k)... Ideally the compilation would be script based, so it should be possible to have li...

Re: What about creating game compilations?

I actually wanted to do something like that, with my own proper compilation of Xenon, Zorgon, Xenon 3, Probe 3, etc... using FloppyBuilder so the files could be loaded compressed... and the part on which I failed was to actually properly initialize a BASIC rom loaded from disk into Overlay memory.

Re: 8bit-Unity version 0.3.5

Not sure how complicated is your UI, maybe you could add a page to tweak the delay, so we can check with your various mice and tell you which values work/stop working for the various models we have?

I guess that does not work with Oricutron 1.2 of the OSDK (All I get is Searching .. and "01" in Green on the right)
