Is there a chance that it works on Raspberry Pi 3 or 4 ?
Sure! SDL and Qt bindings should compile with no pain.

Re: Clock Signal — an Oric emulator for macOS and Linux

@ThomH: Congrats for the incredible work!
I've just tested the new Qt OSBinding and it works like charm. I like the drop-roms feature :).
All in all - simply impressive.

Re: Complete list of Oric Atmos adreeses

Attached you can find Atmos ROM 1.1B disassembly in PDF. This is the best copy I have - it's nicely colored. I don't know who's the author nor where I've got it from. See p.124 for a BASIC commands reference and differences between v1.0 and v.1.1. IMO, what will be very useful nowadays is to be conv...

EDIT: I realize that the killing raxiss team had already worked on a tank concept back in 2018. I need to see what it looks like .. perhaps is there some gameplay material to reuse.[/b] He, it's not this type of tank, we are peaceful people - it's just a fish-tank for relax and meditation ...

Re: Is BD-DOS lost to time?

Unfortunately, this Cumanas will not do the job - it's the same as Microdisc and any other FDC i.e. you still need a Gotek to transfer files between Oric and PC. (Actually maybe I mislead you saying "Cumana reborn" I meant the one with integrated Gotek). I think in this case the best will be PC with...

Re: Blake's 7 feedback and review thread

Here is a patch which swaps up and down directions of the IJK-joystick in Blake's 7: Changes are to be applied on the DSK file using hex-editor. For ver.1.0 at offset $2BD8: $2BD8: 04 01 02 10 08 -> 04 01 02 08 10 For ver.1.2 and the last 1.3 at offset $2BED: $2BED: 04 01 02 10 08 -> 04 01 02 08 10 ...

Re: Need help fixing Oric 1

I suspect I can hack the ROM for NTSC. There must be two places to change. One for TEXT and one for HIRES. Exactly 2 places need to be changed $1E->$1C and $1A->$18. Here is why (from Dbug's Oric graphics in detail ): 24 or 25 Switch to TEXT mode (60 Hz) 26 or 27 Switch to TEXT mode (50 Hz) 28 or 2...

Re: Need help fixing Oric 1

Does anyone know if it's feasible to remove all 8 dram chips and replace it with one SRam chip like 62256. No it's faster and cheaper. I think we can use Ras to latch address. Speaking technically - yes, it's possible such replacement - you'll need 2x 'LS374, 2x 62256, 1/3 'LS04 and lot of enthusia...

Re: Is BD-DOS lost to time?

About using a PC, the only solution I've seen so far is Greaseweazle . @Chema : Thanks for the link. I didn't know about this nice project - it looks great. I've created something similar based on Arduino but it's in early stage, so Greaseweazle will save my time for something else :). Cumana rebor...

Re: Need help fixing Oric 1

Maybe this is a clue. When the prompt is up (before it goes blank), it says "47870 BYTES FREE". I thought it's supposed to be "37631 BYTES FREE" where's the extra coming from? The number is consistent. 47870 BYTES FREE are absolutely OK - simply you have BASIC ROM ver.: 1.0 37631 BYTES FREE are rep...

Re: IJK-egoist new joystick interface by [raxiss]

In any case, using a joystick to control a cursor is horrible (keyboard is too, I know). The interesting thing is that using joystick in Blake's-7 is not so bad, actually is very smooth and cursor is very responsible. About the vertical movement: current state is: push - cursor moves down, pull - c...

Re: Need help fixing Oric 1

I need to concatenate the binary to fit the space. Is that true, if so can some one tell me how to concatenate it? in windows that is. Use command prompt and type: copy /b diag.rom + diag.rom diag32k.rom In Oric pin1 is connected to VCC, so A14 will be always HIGH which means only the second half o...

Re: IJK-egoist new joystick interface by [raxiss]

Here are answers to all questions from above : :) I love the design and how it fits on the back of the Oric. What worries me most is the mechanical stress on the connector... something to worry about? I don't think that should be a problem really, I've seen issues with the connections to the flat c...

This is actually very true! In most cases with merge conflicts this the best practice to resolve them quickly. :)
