Hi,
end of 2014, manufacturers will no longer have to integrate in their devices SCART ...
What will be the best video output for our ORIC from RGB?
Is it possible to build a small interface without having to buy an expensive converter?
Video output without SCART/RGB
Re: Video output without SCART/RGB
My year old Panasonic LED TV doesn't have a SCART socket already but they included a cable that has a Female SCART block to some type of special edge connector to connect to a AV1 port which is on the back. Maybe other manufacturers will do the same ?. So we may still be able to connect "legacy" tech.
Failing that there are SCART => HDMI boxes around I don't know how well they would work with an Oric's SCART output though. I know you don't want to buy a converter but it's probably too much of a hassle to scratch build one.

This is one of the reasons why I try to collect the LCD TV's with SCART whenever I see them at the local dump .. alas, people do throw away perfectly useful LCD TV's these days as they upgrade to HDMI, so it seems there is always a new screen for us out there .. perhaps its similar to your circumstances at the local waste disposal facility?

It's not necessarily ideal, but getting a simple powered SCART to HDMI adapter works well enough.

Re: Video output without SCART/RGB
Is there any lag in SCART to HDMI adapters?
Re: Video output without SCART/RGB
There shouldn't be lag. I have tried 2 different scalers and they worked.
Only drawback is the BIG wire mess: RGB-SCART cable (+ eventually power adapter cord) + SCART-HDMI box + power adapter cord + HDMI cable = real spaghetti .
The price 20-30 EUR can be important factor too.
And if you buy something from China - be sure that the SCART input supports RGB (not only composite and/or S-Video).

Old Orics on old TV sets, new FPGA implementations of Oric on new TV sets?
(with the reservation I'm not updated whether there are any good FPGA implementations, but eventually there ought to be if the interest is there)

Hello,
Easy use a AD722 or AD725 RGB to PAL / NTSC Encoder works of 5v few external components
