symbolique assembler/editor - know how to use it?

So I want to use the Oric to write some machine-code, and I thought I'd have a look at the various tools for that - a glib search for "ASM" on oric.org yields this nice tool:
http://www.oric.org/software/assembleur ... e-992.html
.. which seemingly has an assembler/editor functionality - but I don't have a clue how to use it. Does anyone else know if its worth digging into?
Basically I'd really like to have a full development environment on the Oric - eschewing cross-compiling for the time being - so that I can just do programming on the Oric and nothing else. I have a Cumulus, so I'm just trying to set up a "0:UTIL.DSK"/"1:SOURCE.DSK"/"2:BUILDS"/"3:GAMES"-style arrangement of disks to be used on my Oric and Atmos machines (and Telestrate if I can get it working again..)
