Found many many Ballpoint pens for MCP40 !!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Post by waskol »

I just quote a message in a bottle sent on a forum a few years ago since it is a very good resumé of what a lot of people are looking for :
Commodore 1520
Atari 1020
Tandy CGP-115 (26-1480, 26-1481, or RS 10274850 pens)
Oric MCP40
Sharp CE150, CE515, CE516, MZ1P01 (EA-850B or EA-850C pens)
Casio FA10 (BP1 or BP2 pens)
Mattel Aquarius Printer
Workslate Printer
All of these have common pens for these XY type Plotter/Printers with the Alps printer carriage.
Felt tips are available(The Recorder Company) but I need ball point, black pens for seismographs that we used to manufacture.
These pens are 23mm long tip to tip and 5mm in diameter, ball point on one end and taper to a rounded point on the back end.
Tandy is no longer carring these, and I have exhausted any links that I can think of.
Does anyone know of manufacturers or vendors of such pens?
Steve
The commonly known reference of those ballpoint pens for our beloved printer are :
(Sharp) EA-850B for a set of 4 black pens
(Sharp) EA-850C for a set of 4 color pens (1 Red,1 Green,1 Blue,1 Black)

It's here and nowhere else !!!

The price lis is recent ( May 2009, 14th )
http://www.plotterspezialist.de/downloa ... stifte.pdf
and according to it, it cost 23.88 euros
(search for EA-8520C in the pdf )

IF you know any other reseller, let it know !

i imagine you strip out the packing, and soak both in that pink solvent that cleans printheads or in IPA, then just put some inkjet ink in them and hope for the best.
