Connectivity problems (again)
Connectivity problems (again)
Yesterday around 19:58 the main fiber line failed - it is still gone -.
Generally these issues only last for a couple hour max, but this time it did not, so we enabled the PLAN B, which is to use the second router (cable modem) as a fail over.
It seems to be working, but there are two issues:
- Instead of 250/250, we are down to about 10/1, so speed is not awesome
- I cannot access the website from home (typed this on a mobile phone)

Hello, Dbug!
Last 3-4 days (or maybe more) I have many times troubles to connect the site.
Does anybody else observed lags and dropouts? I hope it's something temporary and not serious.

Re: Connectivity problems (again)
Not just you, it's been flaky the past couple of days for me too.
1) Wading through treacle navigating the site
2) Pages
rendering
without
style
sheets
so
it's
all
down
the
left ...
3) Complete disappearance:- :-
ERROR

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://forum.defence-force.org/index.php
The following error was encountered:
Connection to 37.191.243.240 Failed
The system returned:

Same here, I'd say for about one week, but not constantly. A few timeouts from time to time.
I've had trouble with my provider so wasn't sure if it was just me.

Only seeing that now... late on Sunday :-/
From what I saw things are ok on the ISP side (https://www.lynet.no/status) and the router is not signaling any issue either, guess I'll try to reboot the router and the server.
Next time you notice problems, could you please immediately post some message, either on the forum if you can access it, or on Facebook or Twitter if you can't access the site at all:

Re: Connectivity problems (again)
The router has been restarted (and updated while I was at it).
Could you check if you see any change in the connection issues?

Re: Connectivity problems (again)
I experienced a few strange things lately (large loading time, connecting errors, ...) but rarely, so I always thought it was on my side of the connection.
Again, thanks Dbug for your efforts keeping this forum up and running. You know how grateful we are and how important it is for the Oric community.

Re: Connectivity problems (again)
Ok, I rebooted the server, guess 142 days up time was not too bad.
Hopefully that will help, if not, I will have to dig in more details...
