"New posts" don't grow old?

In this forum you can write about anything that does not fit in other forums.
This includes generic Oric talkings and things that are totaly unrelated but want to share with people here :)

"New posts" don't grow old?

Post by peacer »

I'm having an issue about the forum "View new posts" screen.
http://forum.defence-force.org/search.p ... d=newposts

Normally I use the forum with this facility. I click on the "view new posts" link so that I follow what threads are getting new messages.

But, since 1 week before, the messages in the "new posts" don't change even there is no more message in topics and I already seen them.

I visit the forum daily basis, usually many times per day but this list is getting longer and longer. Right now I see it like this.

I reckon, this happened after the last update with .com, .net. .org changes.

I am using http://forum.defence-force.org/

Is it just me or a general problem?

There's no cookie problem in my browser. I tried different computers and browsers and still the list is growing...

I prefer to use the "unreadpost" page:

Even unread posts page is full of posts that I already have seen. Surprisingly, if I read the posts from there again, they disappear..

I think Its matter of habits :) I prefer "view new posts" link..

I actually never used this view, not quite sure how it's supposed to behave or why it stopped working as you would expect.
Perhaps a bug in phpbb?

EDIT: Looks like I'm not the only one confused: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtop ... 6&t=943995

As it is advised in phpbb forum, I logout and login, then the list is reset.

I hope it won't be a problem again.
Thanks.

Edit : Still problem persists.. I had to log out everytime to clear up the list. Strange..

I've had this problem since .. forever .. with defence-force and other phpbb forums. I think its just a bug, plain and simple - probably something with the cookie credentials that don't get checked properly or something ..
