Hi all
I was looking at the comp.sys.oric newsgroup and see that it is not used much.
Newbies going to comp.sys.oric may feel a bit stranded in cyberspace there so I have posted a message there referring to this excellent forum.
Best wishes
Frank

The NG usage goes up and down over time, much like this forum!
Both have their benefits and faults.
In short, I love the forum for it's organisation and long term storage ability, but I still love the NG for its ease of checking along with my email.
I am basically using both right now.
Saw your post in the NG, and agree that it is a much needed and informative one. I think I will keep a copy for when it rolls off the NG, and needs reposted.

Unfortunately my ISP does not give me usenet sending account. So I use a free usenet reader server. I can only read there, but cannot reply to comp.sys.oric.
If anyone here knows a free usenet posting newsserver that would be great.
( I know google servers but dn't like it. I want a server suitable to use with outlook etc. )

Recently my own ISP went belly up with Usenet access, so I too was looking for a new server to use.
I found http://www.teranews.com/ using the server: free.teranews.com
It has FREE access for both reading AND posting.
That said, there is a $3.95 setup fee, but this is WELL worth it for the access.
Please let me know if you have any problems.

I have an obsessive action that I never use my credit card on internet, I don't trust any web page out of my country.. $3.95 is not a deal at all but I cannot be sure that they will be ok with this amount or future hidden fees are awaiting me, or stolen credit card numbers issue etc, can't do anything offshore if such a thing happens..
There were many text-only usenet servers in the past but now unfotunately I can't find any...

Peacer, just giving you my own findings and recomendations.
The rest is totally upto you.
It does look like free usenet servers are getting less and less though.
