hello all
hello all
new to this site...i have recently(december just gone) managed to port most of my disk software from the early/mid 80's.
it was all on 3inch, 31/2 inch and 51/4 inch floppies .Now what this means is i now have a spare 3"hitachi drive,(HFD305S) and a 51/4 inch drive(PANASONIC) plus quite a few of the floppies as well.
i will keep a few for old times sake to use my self but if anybody would like the drive and or some floppies plz let me know..
p.s .over xmas i finally got round to typing in power maze of agrenon (took me ages) from one of the oric owner mags, however its buggy and was wondering if someone cud fix it. can send scanned pages along with .dsk if someone could find the time.
regards to all,
hutch

Re: hello all
Hi and welcome to the Oric forums!
I wonder if you could zip the scanned pages and the dsk image file and upload it here so people could have a look at it and see what can be done.
You'll see these forums have rather low traffic, but the response time from the people around is small, if they are able to help, that is.
Cheers and welcome again.

Hi Hutch
I have Power Maze of Agrenon, I don't know if there are bugs, the begining of the game is OK.
You can take it here : http://dl.free.fr/gwVZItqG5

When you post a reply there is a box below where you can upload attachments:
Select the file then press 'Add the file'.
Once uploaded it appears on the 'attachments' item just below the edit box, where you can also place it inline by pressing the button. As I did for the above image.

Re: hello all

I guess it would help if if i opened my eyes and read what is on the screen. Lol

Re: hello all
Hi, I typed this game in for my Gamebase a while ago and it works just fine, no need to go typing it in again!
I have attached the file to this post.

Re: hello all
Welcome Hutch
I've tried musepat & dave versions
It seems that dave tap has some screen defects so the transfer may be cursed.
So musepat tap of power maze of agrenon should be better.
I've updated oric.org with this file.

Thanks for that coco.
Re: hello all
I was curious about the differences in both taps. Bas2tap in 'reverse' mode produced nice basic sources .
I don't think there was transfer problem in dave's tap,
but musepat's version looks like more optimized and there is signature too: 15035 PRINT"pomped by T.Syrzisko and L.maillard"
Use any visual diff program with attached files to see differences.

Re: hello all
Look, for example :
musepat :
40 PRINTCHR$(4);CHR$(27);"NYOU ARE ENTERING THE POWER MAZE OF":PRINT
...
29750 PRINT"Do you want to see the instructions"
dave :
40 PRINTCHR$(4);CHR$(27);"NYOU ARE NOW ENTERING THE POWER MAZE OF":PRINT
...
29750 PRINT"Do you want to see the instrctions"
On these two lines, you can observe :
on line 40 a defect on screen from dave tap and
a bad word in line 29750 : instrctions
And there's some other differences. I'm not sure that musepat's tap is 100% clean but there's some bugs on dave's tap (may be the bugs are coming from the source)

Re: hello all
It's probably possible to merge the two versions, taking the best of each
Re: hello all
That's the big problem of transfers and versions: which one is right, were there two different original versions...
But if this is from a magazine, the corrections should be easy once we find back which magazine it was in (unless the published listing holded bugs).
