There is some controversy whether the new Macs will be more vulnerable when they use Intel chips. Not because Intel is a worse design, but more people have access to them and can learn how to write low-level code. It is said that Apple didn't care much about found holes in the OS, but on the other hand those holes were only possible to exploit if you configure the system in a non-standard way (setting up public user accounts etc). I'm afraid the day someone finds a common hole to exploit, the Mac (OS X) world will be flooded by nastyness.
