Help - Tyrann

Hi all,

I am a newbie to Oric and recently downloaded the Tyrann rom to play. However, whenever I "cloaded" it using right click (i am using Euphoric emulator) it shows the following message:

"Insert system disc"
and brings me to the start of the ORIC system.

I tried typing RUN but it fails to execute the running of the game.

Sorry for being a noob to the new system and I have trying for the last 4 hrs!

Ok, let's be clear (though many people talk about "roms" now, I find it unclear. Let's talk about tape images or disk images).
Seems mike you downloded a disk image, is the file you downloaded like xxxxx.DSK ? (then you can't CLOAD it

Anyway, you managed to start Euphoric with it, and that's fine. IF it is a DSK file indeed, then once started, try DIR instead of RUN. You should then see the files of the disk. If there's a file like TYRANN.COM or GAME.COM, then just type TYRANN or GAME, and it should run.
Be carfeul though, I have never seen a reliable Tyrann English version on the internet, the ones I got were bugged. French versions are working, but they're in French

If you ever find a fully working UK version please let us know !

The file was tyrann 1984 (uk).tap extension.

"Insert system disc"

Basicaly this means that you are running Euphoric in "Microdisc" mode, so the Oric is waiting for a bootable disc to be inserted.

If you want to load Tyran, just try to drag and drop the TAP file on the Euphoric.exe program, and this should run Euphoric in default "load the tape and run it" mode.

Dbug : tried yr method but didnt work either .

Maximus: Seems like the English version is bugged! Used to play the English version on my old Oric!

Would anyone be kind enough to email the french version(tap extension) to me?

From the name it sounds to me like one of these files from "rom" websites...
Try to rename the tape file to something without any space in it, like "tyrann.tap", and put it as the same place than Euphoric, then from the command line, try to type:
