I accidentally saw Dbug's videos of the Encounter game. What he did is amazing. The pictures of the game look very beautiful. I've decided to try the image converter as well. I've converted several random pictures from my phone. They looked very good (considering what is the graphical mode of Oric). I was intrigued and decided to do a small and simple game.

This is my weekend project. I hadn't been writing to BASIC for 22 years. All pictures are real from my life.
So... now I'll tell you how I am going every day to my work place ... in pictures (through Oric's eyes).

One remark: Apparently you are generating the italics font by code, you could just do that, and save the result to disk so in the game you don't have to generate it: The Oric BASIC is faster at loading bitmaps than doing bytes manipulations and FOR loops

The slow modifying of the font reminds me of old times. Yes, it's a little annoying, to wait for it every time. I moved the font to a file.

Maybe I had to upload all files, not just the .dsk

Hi trrerr, thanks for your game.
A simple idea, a very good example using digitalized pics.
It could be easier to play with a good subroutine in charge of recognizing text. Of course, it couldn't be in basic.
