Pinball Wizard

Post by Steve M »

Was there ever a game called Pinball Wizard for the Oric? It is mentioned here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accolade_(company)

I wonder if it was called something else on the Oric or if it wasn't released (???)

EDIT. The last bracket gets missed of the link for some reason. Add it on to get the right page.

Its called "Macadam Bumper" on Oric, and was marketed as "Pinball Wizard" in the US ..

EDIT: Seems that these guys could do with some Oric screenshots:

EDIT: [s]iss[/s] ibisum, you were faster than me :)

Pity the girl picture for the scorepanel and the colours were missed from the Oric version. Never compared playability, though, but in the speccy it was fun!

Oh - I thought Pinball Wizard would be different to Macadam Bumper, but it does look basically the same. Macadam Bumper sounds a bit more American to me.

So is Accolade the parent company of Ere ? And then it was Infogrames. Did Infogrames buy Accolade or vice versa?

A complete guess but I would imagine Accolade just purchased the rights to publish the game in the US, a bit like how US GOLD used to publish American games in the UK.
