John S. Sinclair on Oric.org

Post by Symoon »

Hi all,

Dbug, it seems John S. Sinclair replied to your comment on Zorgons Revenge ;)

Glad to see he's still around, I'd love to make a small interview (having to read again the one Steve made though).

Surprise :)

What would be awesome is if we could contact him and see if still somewhat has the source code of his games.

It's a long time since I did the interview. He seemed easy enough to talk to. He was in touch via email and I sent him the questions to reply as he wished. I have his email address still but not sure if it is still valid.

Would be so great to have him around, and especially neat if he could dig into the sources for some of his games ..

The first game I got for my Oric-1 was Zorgon's Revenge. It was stunning for the time. John S. Sinclair, Nick Sinclair, Keith Sinclair... :D

Wasn't it Ian ? i.e IJK = Ian John Keith. There's also the SSS logo on IJK software showing the three Sinclairs.

Ah - well remembered. I'm pretty sure there was an Ian, as well. I can't find my interview with John to check what he said. I think he mentioned the team behind IJK. Maybe Ian was in the office?

I remember there being an Ian too... IJK... at least, that's what my memory is telling me.

Zorgon's Revenge was my first Oric game too. I can still hear the opening jingle.

Yes there was.
I couldn't find my original interview but Didier sent me the version André put in the CEO. John wrote in reply to my page which looks at different cassette versions. You can see I added a footnote. http://www.48katmos.freeuk.com/cc04.htm

Symoon, if you do get in touch with Sir Clive, please let us know, if you are thinking of an interview I'd be interested in contributing a few questions ! :-)
