List of original tape transfers

Post by Symoon »

For those interested, I've created a small page, listing all the original tape transfers I've done so far.

http://mercenarysite.free.fr/oric/oric_transfers.html

Although I still have tapes to convert these days, feel free to contribute ;-)
I hope I'll update the list from time to time.

Cheers

Hi Fabrice !

Thanks for checking your collection! :-)
Here's what I may be interested in:
- Cobra Pinball: I have a working .tap
- Super Jeep; working version
- LM+ : working version
- Lone Raider: .tap in english
- Dracula's revenge: my .tap works on both Oric1 and Atmos
- Acheron's rage: .tap in english
If you are sure they are transfered from original tapes, I'm interested !
Also if you have the original box, manuals etc. for the last 3 ones in the list, I'm interested ;-)
- Hadès: I have a copy of the manual for the assembler and the monitor
Better than nothing! Is it in paper or scanned format ? (I will scan it you don't have time)

And here's what I'm not interested in:
- Forth: you're talking about an ASN version, isn't it Tansoft Forth instead ?
It's from ASN indeed ! I also have the Tansoft one, got to work on it some day ;-) For the ASN one, see http://www.oric.org/index.php?page=soft ... m_log=2173
- Mr Wimpy: .tap in english version

Well the .TAP of French version is in English, too. Only the inlay and docs were translated. So I'm more looking for the inlay, tape and manual!
- Waydor: have to check if both english and french version were on the same tape
The French version didn't have the English one. It's full translated (game, docs, inlay), and distributed by another company. So if you have the French version, I already have it.
- 3D Maze: are you talking about 3D Munch ? I have a working .tap
I noted "3D Maze/Breakout" in my "to do" list because I own the tape but didn't have time to work on it so far ! So I don't need the tape ;-)

If you want we can carry on privately. I'll have to update the list some day because I've had other lists coming in. Hey, it's more complicated than expected to manage ;-)

Thanks again Fabrice !

I have some of these if its any help. Of the games you've listed, I have original UK cassettes for Dracula's Revenge, Acheron's rage and Mr Wimpy. I think I also have the Maze/Breakout cassette.

I'm not sure how well these tapes work as they've not been used in around a decade, but the inlays etc should be near minty as I was always quite careful with them.

[edit]

Having now looked at the list - I'm not sure my Dracula's Revenge is any different. I think I played it on my Atmos but I could be mistaken as I mainly stuck to my Oric 1.

I don't think there's an english version of Fireflash. I was given it by a friend who bought it in the UK (possibly mail order, but I'm sure not from abroad). Iirc its all in French.

I have a full boxed Franklin's Tomb that I've had from new, one of the first games I got for the system. I'm not sure if its in my loft or my mother's though, so it could take some finding.

I know I had Mushroom Mania fairly early, but I'm not sure if my copy predates the Atmos. I think it does but I'll need to check that one.

I've a full Microdeal Space Shuttle too...

Also Xenon 1 - may not have the inlay slip instructions on it (I suspect it was lost).

Does that help any?

Hi Anti,

Thanks for having checked the list so carefully :)
You own tapes I'd be interested in transferring, indeed! I understand you may need a moment to find them back - well there's no hurry on my side, since several people sent me tapes already, and I have some work ahead ;)

Anyway, here's what I'd be interested in:
- Acheron's Rage
- Mr Wimpy
- Franklin's Tomb
- Space Shuttle
and maybe
- Mushroom Mania if it's pre-Atmos
- Xenon-1 manual if you ever fin it (it was a simple small white page printed on both sides)

Maybe we can carry on privately (thanks for your email !)
Cheers!

A small update. I cleared out my loft this week (it took days and many visits to the local skip).

Found my old boxes of games. Haven't emptied them all yet, but I did find my minty Space Shuttle, complete with instruction booklet and 'Cuthbert Club' subscription form :D

I have to go to Newcastle for a couple of days on business, but later this week I'll get a proper look at these boxes.

As far as I'm aware there wasn't an Atmos version. It was only the clever guys at CEO(?) that converted it to disk and made it Atmos compatible.

Take a look here

The version with the Atmos sticker does run on Atmos!
It's amazing to discover how many verions of the same game were released. PSS has sometimes games that have been released in (at least) 4 or 5 different versions (including inlay variations and so on).

Thanks - never seen that one before.
PSS had the label change and the introduction of Atmos versions. I don't think I've got 4 versions though - Heck! that's more tapes to collect.

BTW I've still got a few things put away for you. I guess I'll need ot post them!
