Re: RND

Hi. There are quite a few possibilities here, though I am not sure exactly what you want. The "standard" ODK library includes a rand() function which IIRC calls the ROM. If you need something more specific, or don't want to call the ROM routine, then there are other possibilities: Some asm...

Re: Oricutron crashes with Tyrann

As I commented in another thread, if you overclock Skooldaze in Oricutron the game will run smoother, but you won't have faster events, speeches or movements, because those are based on timing with IRQs. Same with Space 1999 and (to some extent) 1337. It is not a problem, it is just because it emula...

Re: Oricutron crashes with Tyrann

Yep. Oricutron overclocks the CPU,but IRQs still occur at the usual pace. Euphoric accelerates the whole machine.

Re: Damsel In Distress

Hi Symoon, Sorry for not having replied before, I just have very little free time lately for Oricing :( Anyway I do remember hearing that annoying high pith sound, but I think it did not occur when I first tried the game several years ago. I tried with Euphoric + DosBox and with Oricutron (the 0.9 a...

Re: Atmos ROM

And the version of tap2dsk included in OSDK 0.19 works with Skool Daze (not sure why the one with 0.17 didn't). However Skool Daze is not working when loaded from disk directly. It also messes with page 4 and apparently SEDORIC sets the IRQ vector to page 4. It should be easy to fix, just setting th...

Re: Atmos ROM

Just for the records, I also have a first version of the Atmos ROM with the loading bug. It is indeed a pain, but beware because the newer versions simply disabled the error checking completely, so it may seem you correctly loaded something and discover later on that you didn't. Nothing worse than a...

Re: Scart cable

That looks really nice.

I also made an scart table (much shoddier than yours, just to get the TV pic and signal RGB - no resistors, no tape-in...) and I must say the pic on the TV is fantastic. At least when compared with the horrible picture I got with the antenna connector...

A real must, imho.

Re: Microdrive in ebay

Congratulations! Let us know how it works when you receive it, please (with some photos maybe? ) I indeed recall reading that Cumana is just a cleaner redesign of Microdisc... Is that correct? Just a cleaner and simpler board designed to be completely compatible with Microdisc? Did Cumana drives als...

Re: My last pride :)

Looks great! Thanks for the explanations.

Is it possible to attach a usual PC 3'5" disk drive? Is that design too far from Microdisc?

EDIT: I imagine the answer to the first is "no" and to the second is "yes"... just trying to express my own hope :)

Re: The Return of Viking Chess (Hnefatafl)

I see the AI is getting more and more complete (and complex!) and the game is shaping up quickly!

Very nice to see you are still working on this. Keep on with the good work. I am looking forward to seeing a release :)

Re: My last pride :)

Hey! Can you explain what we can see in those videos? It seems like an atmos to me, not a Pravetz, though the way to boot dos is similar (or the same) as in the pravetz? Excuse my lack of knowledge about this...

And is it a home-made controller? Please give us details :)

Cheers

Re: STAR in Oricutron

Hi all. I've been on vacation with no regular access to the Internet, and now I have tons of emails and things to put up-to-date, but could not resist to attend this one as soon as I saw it. I converted the game to wav and cloaded it into my Atmos. It loaded, auto-started and worked perfectly. My or...

I've noticed this for quite a long time now too. Not sure what may be going on; maybe Maximus or any other usual user of the web could bring some light about this?
