Dbug wrote: Wed May 31, 2023 12:00 pm I guess you still have the few bytes between the screen and the ROM, as well as the entire page 2.

Do you have a map file of the game?
I came here to say exactly the same. 256+ bytes can make a difference!

Re: Oric adventure [raxiss]

I love this small demo! I several times toyed with the idea of this kind of game too, but never actually started anything. Never decided if using text mode (dynamic char redefinition, good speed, but few colors - mixing modes means losing characters) or hires, but considering a disk-based game, ther...

Re: OType

This one was a really mammoth project... as if a vertical scrolling shmup in groud/air/space was not enough!

The technical demos are impressive with a relatively usable vertical scroll in HIRES, which is not something easy to do at all!

Re: Wurlde - Game Development Forum

The problem here, I think, is that I doubt Wurdle existed as anything more than a set of experiments, failed attempts and small ideas of different approaches and game mechanics. Putting all that together with a story will be a nightmare. But maybe I missed some info here.. OType, on the other hand, ...

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter

This is getting most impressive...

I like the fade routine... are you loading the graphics directly from disk (with unpacking, etc.)? I wonder if it could be speed up a bit (just curious :D)

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter

It is nice to hear you are still working on this... and how you are improving this game is incredible!

I am glad you are also experimenting with the Twilighte mask idea... I guess it works much better for big graphics, or does it also do a fair job for small sprites?

Now seriously, it is really annoying. I did notice the forum down for an instant, but it went back to normal a minute later.

Re: Real Time 3D example

That looks very nice! I wonder if some semi-graphics could be used instead of the default ROM character set. Maybe defining some patterns to aid in the visuals as you did with the background galaxies and planets. Also dynamic redefinition could add animations or things like that. Awesome demo, congr...

Re: Free Petscii Robots for the Oric-1 / Atmos

Also, I'm willing to bet that when this game makes it to the big archives of "all oric games", the documentation will be missing, because that's what people zipping games do: Remove all the stuff which is not just the game. Indeed. That is why I always recommend people to go to oric.org. ...
