Re: Hebdogiciel
Well, we only met (in Perth) about 4 or 5 times, but I think there was another user group in Melbourne, they may have made a bit more noise on the scene than we did. I got my Oric, incidentally, because my Dad was an acquaintance of the fellow who handled the import to Australia, whose name I've for...

Re: Hebdogiciel
I started my computing interest at the same time I started my music-making interest. The Oric was my first computer; in those days I also had my own little multi-track tape rig set up for audio-hacking, too. Copying tapes was too easy. Well .. it was pretty hard to get Oric software. You really had ...

Re: Which assembler is this from ?
I've since discovered ASMOS, in case anyone is interested - its pretty much a very usable asm/disasm on Oric..
http://www.hebdogiciel.fr/hd-roms/oric/ ... RIC%5D.zip
All the basics are there, asm, disasm, block copy, block entry, ascii dump, etc. Quite usable ..

Re: Cumulus firmware rework task force
I'm interested in helping, but not at all interested in re-do'ing the GUI .. my principle focus will be on figuring out how to control the Cumulus from the Oric, which requires a bit of homework on my part .. the idea would be to add commands like: !LSDSK - returns a list of .dsk files found on disk...

6502 week on /r/retrobattlestations

Re: Cumulus Issues
I have two CumuluBus, they both work fine on two Atmos'. Haven't tried with Oric-1, its too delicate an operation, as the Oric-1 I have needs repairs first.

Re: Cumulus Firware Compilation
I really think it should be more of a priority to try to get Cumulus controllable from the Oric - this then renders the UI not as important, and we can move on to fixing the UI issues after this. I imagine having some sort of command like "!CUMULUS VOLS" to get a list of .DSK files availab...

Re: Cumulus Firware Compilation
I have it unpacked and set up but I haven't been able to upload a locally-built binary .. last I looked, I still had to find a way to do that. I'm quite happy to work with you on features, though .. the most important thing from my perspective is to figure out some way to be able to control Cumulus ...

Re: Merry Christmas oricians!
Cheers and seasons greetings to you all from my family here in Vienna, Austria, as well .. we are active Oric users in our household, and by "we" I mean me and the 7 and 4 year old - and you guys here in the Oric community are a real treat for us, as we explore these old machines and their...

Re: Geoff Phillips interview
Always great to read tales of the old days from someone who was there in the thick of it all .. would be great if he joined us here on the forum and revealed that he still has all his old Oric stuff tucked away somewhere, eh?
