Re: Announcing 8bit-Unity: Cross-platform SDK for 8bit games

Congrats! This is really a remarkable event in the 8-bit universe. I like the idea for universal game API.
I'll try the Apple// port with emulator asap and of course the Oric one when it's ready.
Keep your enthusiasm high!

Re: OSDK bugs

A post at ori.org forum has exposed an annoying bug with rand() and random() functions in OSDK. The problem actually is that rand() is defined in 'lib.h' and in 'stdlib.h'. If you use only rand() then the definition in 'lib.h" is used and it works ok , but if you use random() then both _rand and _ra...

Re: Jasmin time

@Chema : I didn't looked at your last modifications in FloppyBuilder, but from your explanation I suspect where can be the problem. Can you try the attached image with the real Jasmin? It should work with Microdisk too and contains some read tests and a write test after them. Else unfortunately, I ...

Re: Networking Orics.

Something like this? .wait_ack LDA $030D AND #$02 ; Test if flag CA1 = 1 (%00000010) BEQ .wait_ack Yes, exactly, but I think you need first to read from (or write to) ORA register to clear the flag i.e. LDA $0301 .wait_ack LDA $030D AND #$02 ; Test if flag CA1 = 1 (%00000010) BEQ .wait_ack

Re: Networking Orics.

You need VIA 6522 datasheet (attached). You can use IRQ handler or polling to check the status of ACK.

Re: CC65 to DSK

In the attached file you can find sources and compiled (with CC65 + OSDK tools) DSK file for Sedoric compatible 'save' and 'load' functions. After boot the test saves first 4 lines of the screen to a file 'TEST.TXT' then screen is CLSed, after key press these 4 lines are restored from file. In the z...

Re: CC65 to DSK

To create working DSK you need to use some tools from OSDK. But first I think it's good idea to compile with CC65 a "plain" binary (i.e. no tap header, no basic loader). For this you need to adjust the cfg file (attached you can find my cfg files - atmosA.cfg for assembler only projects and atmosC.c...

Re: Networking Orics.

Congrats! Attached you can find zipped sketch which I'm using. It's compatible with LLIST and LPRINT commands. Of course POKE can be used always ;). If I may suggest to include in your game support for Oric Serial interface too. It's emulated in Oricutron and there are already two "network" games: T...

20181217_000837.jpg OricExos with attached extension - everything works exactly as expected! Now I have to replicate it 4 times and write the 'driver' for parallel communication. Meanwhile the video mixer will be ready and ... the hardware final is really close! Ideas for real X-mas demo are welcom...

which is good reason for a travel :).
