There are 2 different version of the Atmos ROM.

yes. it is really simple
it is a Arduino the controls 2 steppermotors and the laser. The software and the firmware on the Arduino is grbl (https://github.com/grbl/grbl)
And the you can "print" from Inkscape on your laser.

Anyway, for Sedoric there maybe a problem with 1.0 ROM which is not related with the cumulus itself and make dir & co slow.

hmm.. but when i insert the Atmos 1.1 ROM in my Oric-1 it is faster when i make a DIR and all the software loads fine.

peacer: sorry to hear that your cumulus not working on your oric at the moment. Please make a picture of your power supply. I try a little bit with my Orics and the Cumulus and it seems to be different on different ROMs. On my Atmos with ROM V1.1 everything runs fine. But on my 2 Oric-1s with ROM V1...

The correct LCD driver for each board is also in the bootloader. Maybe we can use it for the firmware too.
I marked the boards this the S1D15G10 LCD with a black dot on the PCB above the buttons.

Sure i can print it in black/white. But the white is not the grey/white from the oric. But you can paint it if you like
