Re: Wanted: Microdisc System Disc
I booted sedoric on my 3.5" and tried to use "backup a to b" to copy the sedoric disk to a 3" disk, but it failes with a write error. For some reason backup writes to both sides and 80 tracks, I wonder if it has something to do with the double sided 3.5" drive. The MicroDisc...

Re: Wanted: Microdisc System Disc
You can also connect a 3.5" drive to the microdisc, and boot from it if you have the correct switches set :) Basically you can cheat and get the 3.5" as A and the 3" as B, and format the 3" using the 3.5" as master disc. The interest in doing that is that it's generally eas...

Re: Space:1999 feedback and review thread
I used writedsk from here:
http://oric.free.fr/TOOLS/
to create 3.5" disks. Then I replaced the 3" drive with a 3.5" drive in my microdisc. I will soon try to connect the 3" drive as a slave and copy all games to 3" disks.

Re: Simplest MMC Interface hardware
Ofcourse we want a mouse, for a nice OS with windows, Oric Photoshop, RTS games
Btw, if you're only interested to have a mouse, you could implement a PS/2 mouse (much easier than USB) and the have a passive PS/2 -> USB circuit. Then most USB-mice can be used anyway.

Couldn't you just use a opto-coupler?highwayman wrote: the only other issue is the oric's stupid negative-regulated power system.
the stuff must all be powered from the oric - and no external links like usb etc,
Or even with IR and make it wireless

Re: Oric controller for exchange
My drive belt was bad, but I replaced it last year with a new one from ebay. I will test it on my microdrive then, but I'm on vacation for another couple of weeks.

It works! Connected a PC drive to the Oric and I've got Sedoric, 1337 and Space1999 to work so far.

Re: Wanted: Microdisc System Disc
Thanks Dbug, I will try this. I got two Amstrad 6128's and a pack of empty disks, so that's no problem. I have no slave microdisc drive though, only a master, but I guess I could just disconnect the drive? I prefer to have the software on 3 inch disks so I can use the microdisc as it was meant to.

Wanted: Microdisc System Disc
I got a working Microdisc, but I'm missing the system disc.
So, I want to buy a system disc, original or copy.
