Re: Global Game Jam 2015
It's not yet committed.ibisum wrote:Wow, I have to check out your additions to PictConv ..
I had to do some changes in a number of places, and I have to make sure it's still correctly generating other type of pictures.

Re: Global Game Jam 2015
Indeed Dbug. This new graphics are impressive! You are mastering the AIC method now... I know who to ask whenever I need help in future projects ;) Actually, I added the native support for AIC and Alpha Chanel in PictConv, so you will not have to HIDE anymore :D I'm still experimenting with the gra...

Re: Parallax?
Thanks for all the answers
As far as I can see, most games with parallax are doing it on stars, few are doing it with things like mountains (like Super Jeep) but it's done so there's no overlapping between the parallax plans and what the player can interact with.

Re: Steam/GOG
Well, if things were easy, they would not be interesting to try :) Getting the things accepted on the various stores is indeed complicated, but that's more or less a problem that everybody has. It's not proper to old school titles, it's just that there's so many games theses days that the selection ...
Steam/GOG
In these few last months, there's been quite a lot of old games made available through the Steam or GOG (Good Old Games) download platforms, many of these running either inside a repackaged DOSBox or ScummVM. I was wondering if it could make sense/be doable, to do the same thing with Oric games :) L...

Re: Hebdogiciel
That may have been "copieur-pro" as on this page: http://www.hebdogiciel.fr/oric.htm The thing is, that one is 2.5 k long, which is way longer than what I used. If that was that one, then I managed to get it under 512 bytes long by removing the Oric1/Atmos compatibility, replacing all the ...

Re: Hebdogiciel
You crazy pirate! :D Actually it was not really piracy. I had two tape decks: The one I kept the settings unmodified, and the one I used to "import" software. The reason is that the various software houses used different "Azimuth" settings for the tapes, so for Loriciels I had t...

Re: Hebdogiciel
It was in Hebdogiciel that I found the copy program I used the more often back in the days. I did my own version that had almost no UI at all - replaced by calls to PING/SHOOT/EXPLODE/ZAP to indicated when to insert/swap tapes - so it could fit in some almost never used places in memory, allowing me...
Re: Parallax?
Should have been more accurate: Classic games, not recent ones like the ones made by either Twilighte or Chema
Parallax?
Hi.
Can any of you think of any Oric game that would implement either:
- nice masking of graphics over other graphics (apart Skooldaze)
- parallax/differential scrolling
I'm doing some comparative research for my game
Thanks

Re: Another Microdisc compatible.
Need to remind everybody: If you have the financial means, such a controller board associated with a HxC floppy emulator is technically more equivalent to what you get with a Cumulus. (The end result is more expensive, on the other hand you can reuse the HxC on other computers, such at Atari, Amiga,...

Re: Cumulus firmware rework task force
I am, but a combination of overtime and gamejam made me have no time to think about it.
Also, I wanted to see people opinion about the menu system, which features they would like to have, etc...
