Re: Hardware boxes scans

A new Oriclopedia video, about tape decks.
And yes, I'm not going to keep them all, I'm going to try to sell half of them, I don't have enough room in my apartment!

Re: opelco and 3 1/2 inch drive
What about the power, have you checked you get the proper +5/+12 at the right locations? I vaguely remember that some 3" and 3.5" drives had the voltage pins inverted.

Re: opelco and 3 1/2 inch drive
Do you use the same connector cable for the 3" and 3.5" drives? If I remember correctly they have different connectors. If the drive spins without stopping, it's probably not a floppy/read problem, it's most probably a signal problem, so either the cable is not the good one (or got damaged...

Re: opelco and 3 1/2 inch drive
What exactly do you mean by "does not want to work"? Is it like it does not react at all, or just spins forever, etc...? Where does that drive come from, is that an old one, relatively thick, with jumpers, etc... or a modern slim one? There are models which are hardcoded to be on specific ...

Do you have the complete game, or just the .DSK file?
Normally you should have the following:

I also ordered one.
I'm not quite sure the font he used is the proper one, but still better than nothing

Today I spent a bit of work in having my build script able to generate multiple version of the game, for different languages and with version number. image_2023-08-26_150957177.png and during the boot sequence, the information is displayed at the bottom of the screen, to make it obvious which versio...

Having the Oric Atmos demonstration tape running could be somewhat cool, it's not brain blasting, but it shows a good mix of features of the machine.

Re: Oricutron and disk images
I wonder if it would be easy to hack in the menu by having like if you select "Insert disk..." but you press SHIFT or CONTROL or ALT, then you get something different: - Insert disk - Eject disk - Toggle write protect image_2023-08-25_083220884.png These options are rarely useful for users...

Re: Oricutron and disk images
On this topic, Dom is asking a number of things which I happen to not know about! - Is it possible to enable/disable the write protection on a .DSK in Oricutron? - Is it possible to create a "virgin" disk and format it, from inside Oricutron? - It's possible to select a floppy for each of ...
