Re: Ascii Moon Buggy

I used dynamic memory allocation extensively when developing Pinforic. Although it was before the OSDK times, and before the switch from frasm to XA as assembler, if the library did not change, it should work ok.

I haven't tried it yet, no idea when I can, but I'm sure I will at some point.
A big thanks, and to all those keeping emulators alive, for free, on their spare time, as well!
Indeed. A big thanks for your work.

Re: Modern Software Packaging

Interesting, did not know these universal game cases, thanks for the link :) I wonder how a 3" floppy would fit in... And a 3.5" floppy? :) My trouble has always been finding a case where the 3.5 floppy could fit and which does not cost more than the floppy itself! A CD case and other I tried fail ...

Re: Textmode Sideways Scroller

It looks nice! Congratulations! I had some squares appearing on the top row (occasionally) and maybe you'd like to configure the keyboard reading delay and repetition rate (as was done from BASIC-see the manual), but the demo is already looking good and the helicopter graphic is nice indeed. Now you...

Re: Modern Software Packaging

Looks really nice!

About the foam, so you buy a small slab, cut it and open a 'compartment' with the shape of the floppy? How do you do this? with a cutter?

And what about the internal 'compartments' that come to fit the DS cartridge? Did you cut them off?

Will do!!! As I said I really find this very interesting and you are doing magic.

And if you revived old rusty non-working boards, then you are fully redeemed... And praised :D

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

The project is awesome, don't get me wrong. The thing is that there are two lines in the retro-scene: those who like to mod their machines so they get new features or are more comfortable to use, and those who'd prefer to keep those museum pieces as mint as possible. I am on the second. I hated to a...

Argh... Those motherboards survived 35 years and you are drilling holes and cutting tracks on them!

Re: Modern Software Packaging

This is really nice. I have been looking for a solution to package my games, and ended up with a big cardboard box. There exist crystal cases for tapes and floppy disks 3.5", available to buy. I remember VHS cases for floppies and I think there were sold later in DVD format. But nowadays all the opt...

Re: Gotek USB floppy emulator

I know people who use the Gotek with the FlashFloppy or HxC firmware with their Microdisc controllers and they work perectly. Oric's dsk format is not supported yet, so you need to convert it to HxC format, but that is all. You can get a Gotek flashed with the correct firmware and a nice Oled screen...
