Re: CBM and Cybernoid

With the Block capture feature i haven't needed to edit any individual character which has reduced a lot of work. The block capture facility also scans the existing character set for duplicates so saving more characters and memory. I can release the following 0.001 version. I've tested it myself, th...

CBM and Cybernoid

Ok, i have finally completed a tool for the Oric called CBM. It is based around the AIC graphic technique used in games such as Stormlord and Impossible Mission. The construction of most Platform games consists of Characters, Blocks and Maps (hence CBM). On platforms other than the Oric, up to 256 C...

Re: oric advanced user guide is still available

My Atmos manual was falling apart so just bought a new one on ebay for £14!
AUG doesn't seem to be available anymore even though it is the Oric Bible imho!

Re: Problem with ERR SET

Using Sedoric's SEARCH command seems to work and doesn't generate an error if or if not found but the status must be held in a Sedoric environment variable. Any idea which one?

Dbug linked me to English Sedoric manual but it doesn't seem to hold the environment variable info. :(

Problem with ERR SET

Hi, i'm trying to write a BASIC program in Sedoric that detects the presence of a file before loading it from disk. However the test program below has issues 10 ERR SET 20 LOAD "SILLY.MEM",V 30 ERR OFF 40 PRINT ST,ED When run, and silly.mem does not exist on the disk the program returns to...

Re: Oric hardware museum

I don't agree with 2 things. I think both can be dealt as one by simply having something like a commercial flag. Ie. was the interface a commercial product or personal project and more importantly was the product finished? Like we might list the IDE interface and reset both commercial and completed ...

Oric hardware museum

Is there a site out there that covers all of the hardware for the oric? For the last few days I've been thinking perhaps there is but sites are fragmented as in they cover some stuff but not the less common and potentially more interesting hardware such as home projects, more main stream devices com...

Re: Hardware inventory

I like this hardware inventory idea but for other reasons such as a potential source of spares and to keep almost a museum record of the hardware that was available on the Oric range. People like Jon Haworth used to visit OUM meetings with a vast array of Oric hardware extensions such as the origina...

Re: Skool Daze

Well explained given the potential of AIC mode Chema. To me AIC mode is the only future for Oric graphics. It offers the best colour scheme, best resolution and best flexibility. As I believe the cover art for Impossible Mission illustrated it also works well on a large canvas. I also wonder if it c...

Re: Stormlord

Bravo Antiriad! I agree completely but people will always feel that these games should have appeared when the oric was at its height. It could never be so, beit time shifted material such as Stormlord in '89 and Oric's height in '85 or basically the amount of time its taken to realise the technique ...
