Re: Connectivity problems (again)

I guess I could still restart the server, see if that helps.

Re: SCSI harddrives...

I've bought an UltraSatan a while ago and I've been really happy with it. So, if i want to copy some st disks on my satan sd card, then getting them on my pc, i know where ask the question :) The difficulty is to find the combination of formating options that work for the two cards, the device, the...

Re: My new Cumana drive ;)

Hmm, it is my DDI3 for amstrad CPC,(similiar unit like CUMANA , floppy emulator and floppy interface) connected direct to CPC expansion port. I can redraw CUMANA board and shrink it for this style, but i think, 34 pin connector is to weak to hold it in place. Maybe if i use rerial port too ? Only f...

Re: SCSI harddrives...

I did have an awesome 1GB Micropolis drive in my Mega STE, with zero sector defect. When I moved to Norway, the thing died. Personally, I've abandoned the idea of using real harddrives on the ST, because losing a floppy is "ok", but losing an entire hard drive is a major issue, instead I recommend i...

Re: My new Cumana drive ;)

It looks like that could actually work!

I need to check what are the specs of the Nova power supply, but if it's good enough, basically I would just need the board with the connectors, but no actual case, power supply or usb stick

Re: My new Cumana drive ;)

What are the dimensions of the PCB? Do you think the device could fit in something like that: MicrodiscZaxxonIdea.jpg I'm basically thinking of the poor empty shell of the Oric Nova 64, with the big hole only used to store the power cable, and since they don't have any Oric or Microdisc logo on them...

Re: Bocco's adventures

But I'm quite sure it happened to me before. I tried to search the forum but it seems that the search engine has sometimes difficulties finding very old posts - and that Dbug already told about issues with the search. It's not really an issue with old messages, it's more the fact that the search en...

Re: Oriclopedia: A series of videos on all things Oric

Regarding the differences, I was only expecting changes making the machine either easier or cheaper to produce: It's supposed to be 100% compatible with the Oric Atmos at the software level. Will see... I've just got one (from the same source)! 8) Good! I'm glad you got one, so if I struggle with t...

Re: ULA versions

What about the ones with just two lines

PHILIPPINES
HCS10017

without any other batch information, do we know where they come from, and if they actually work?

Re: ULA versions

Damn, I did search "ULA" before, did not go far enough in the history in the search results :)

So basically the number does not matter, a particular chip may work with a particular Oric and not some other (at least in relation to Cumulus compatibility)

ULA versions

I was looking at a few of the motherboard photos, and ULA chips and ebay, and I was wondering if there was a difference between the various revisions. From what I've seen, we can find the following: - HCS 10017 | CDI-8B | 6809 ? - HCS 10017 | CDI / 8F | 8350 - HCS 10017 | CDI 8F | 8422 - HCS 10017 |...

Re: Is BD-DOS lost to time?

Maybe the simplest would be to contact the guy on the forum post you linked.

Apparently the two authors of the Byte Drive 500 are Paul Simpson and Peter Halford working at Tyrell Computers, which happens to match at least one person on Linked In: https://www.linkedin.com/in/paul-simpson-23910112/

Re: Gotek USB floppy emulator

Looks like both the Gotek and the Hitachi hfd305d use jumpers to select the drive, so the double switch thingy would probably work :)
