Re: Modern Software Packaging

This is a great idea! The need for a standard packaging reminds me of the Universal Game Case (cf http://thevideostoreshopper.com/universal-game-case/universal-game-case-%7C-full-sleeve-insert/) which can host many (console) cartridge types and looks like this: http://thevideostoreshopper.com/images...

Re: Poly 1 Computer

The look of this kitten is quite special: with its all plastic enclosure, side handles and this weird recessed square at the top it is almost as if it was designed to be used as a swimming pool floating computer. ;) I can picture three people gathering around it in the pool : one typing at the keybo...

Re: Gotek USB floppy emulator

How does one change disks with a Gotek exactly? Using buttons and the 8 segment counter display?
I find the idea generally interesting but if one has to remember the numbers of all their disks I must admit I do not feel very motivated to even test it.

Re: VIA "networking"

It will be very helpful if someone patch the standard Atmos ROM for Slave machines, so it executes automatically CLOAD"" after power-on. Meanwhile That's actually a very good idea! If the slaves have a patched ROM, it can even do things like default to black paper and ink, so nothing is merged in t...

Re: Merging video output?

I like the idea of a 12 bit RGB output. This is equivalent to the Amiga/STE color range and allows very impressive images. The issue though being that - as Mike mentioned - one would still have to deal with the constraints of attributes which would be even trickier as one would have to somewhat know...

My sister bought me this a couple of years ago - decent quality and I wear it with pride :) https://image.spreadshirtmedia.net/image-server/v1/mp/products/T6A2MPA4PT17X14Y85D15961429S69/views/1,width=800,height=800,appearanceId=2,backgroundColor=E8E8E8,modelId=1405,crop=detail,version=1534416760/or...

Re: California Devices Inc and the HCS10017

Also I've been in touch with Mike Brown, who has in the past done a lot of thinking about what the internals of the ULA might look like. I knew he would be very interested in the die shot, as would any Oric enthusiast. Holy kitty, what an understatement. ;) A huge fluffy thanks for your efforts in ...

Re: Re-encoding Oricutron captures for Youtube

This is indeed a nice trick, however there is more to this issue than just the encoding parameters. YouTube uses bit per pixel values for each resolution (240p, 360p, 720p) which are likely proportional to the number of bits of the resolution. In clear, this means that it should use the same bit per...

Re: California Devices Inc and the HCS10017

What I've done below is to extend the side-by-side image to include the same section from this third image, and then to colour the original two images to highlight the same parts: Huhu, reading the first paragraphs I was going to suggest coloring, only to be rewarded on the next paragraph with exac...

Re: Monitor for Orix

This looks really nice and practical, great effort!

It is really a shame that I do not have an Oric machine, otherwise I would just pounce on the Twilighte board and play with it. ;)

Re: Simplest MMC Interface hardware

/me still thinks that having joystick and mouse ports could be awesome, would allow us to make other types of games. I agree, better/"recent" user input devices go a long way in making a platform easier to use for "modern" activities even if its capabilities are limited. Done also on twilighte card...

Re: Multiple IF THEN ELSE on the same line?

IF (S$<>"TWI") THEN ELSE IF(TW=0)THEN PRINT"CROAK":GOTO11407 ELSE PRINT"You don't have any":GOTO10000 Interesting but quite hard to read. :D I guess this is another kind of syntax which is better left to be generated by a preprocessor from a higher level pseudo BASIC language with the required scop...
