3) bit planes: Pros: 8 shades of each color - 512 colors, no serial attributes
Hm, this is not true - 8 shades are possible but not for every single pixel i.e. within one hires byte we can have less shades but how many?
Well, all comments and ideas are appreciated!

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

Dbug, Mike, yes, you are right and from point of view of the "whole picture" we mean actually the same thing! This is good! :D I'll try to summarize the possibilities: 1) Direct connection x1.jpg Pros: high speed, simple hardware, simple to program. Cons: 8 colors, additional colors possible but lit...

Re: gmail and defence-force emails

Normally I'm using gmail with Mozilla Thunderbird POP/IMAP client and it's easy to see headers.
From Web interface: first open the message and then click on the 3-dots at right and select "Show original".
I hope this is what you need. :)

Oric Atmos and Oric 1 Graphics and Machine code techniques by Geoff Philips 1984 - McGraw Hill - ISBN 007084743 In DF Library (see at bottom of page) . It's zip-file with Word Docs inside. The same file was on author's home page: http://www.geffers.demon.co.uk/, which unfortunately is down now, but...

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

Mike, you are right, but it still weird :). The 'secret' is in the internal 200 Ohms resistors - I hooked RGB signals AFTER them, so they play their role in the 'equation' and the output is (as I already said) OR-ed but not exactly - it's analogue circuit already. Basic simulation (with no claims fo...

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

The soup-opera continues with new episode... more color bars :) Mixing horizontal and vertical bars: morebars.jpg ... and adding 3rd layer solid color: https://youtu.be/Sxy9IGDHt0E Sources updated in github . @Dbug: it's really weird - if 2 Orics output white then the 3rd become invisible no matter ...

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

Simple try to achieve more colors. The idea was mixing this 4 screens: bars.jpg to get different levels in brightness but only 2 shades are visible. bars-demo.jpg Obviously this "direct RGB connection" is usable only when the goal is speed i.e. the screen will be divided in 4 areas and every Oric wi...

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

Thanks for the idea! Two things need to be changed: - PEEK(#EDB0) returns #60, #31, #32, #33 respectively for master, slave1, slave2, slave3 - use mask 0x03; - the patched ROM can't execute BASIC programs - use C  Here is the code (uploaded OricExos github ): // Original code Dbug // 10 ID=...

Here we go: https://youtu.be/3FP3D1z5c2Q And screen closeup: first-demo.jpg Oric #0 is with PAPER7 which acts like alpha-plane :). Master loader and slave code in attached zip-file. The video mixing is "direct connect" like OR-ing but it's not exactly. In next demo I'll use more colors horizontal+ve...

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

This is how OricExos looks like: 20181007_234339.jpg 20181007_232751.jpg ... and it WORKS ! Master's Tape-Out is connected to Slaves's Tape-In and with this simple 'master' program: 10 HIMEM#3FFF:CLS 20 CLOAD"":ST=DEEK(#2A9):EN=DEEK(#2AB) 30 CSAVE"SLAVE",A ST,E EN,AUTO 40 CALL ST I was able to "CSAV...

Re: Oricutron for android (POC)

Small update Oricutron_android-20181006-1.apk:
- better icon generated from vector svg image
- visual keyboard by default visible with "sticky" keys turned on - easier to type on tablet.

Next thing will be to make a Bluetooth keyboard to work (the link is just an example).
