Re: Source code repository discussion
No matter which tool one is ... forced to use (sorry, I couldn't resist), it helps a lot if you invest some time to learn it properly. Especially if you are not a software developer, or not familiar with source control systems. When I started learning git a few years back, this interactive tutorial ...

Re: TSN 1-2450A instead of LM7905
The VX7805-1000R might also be suitable if it can supply enough current in the negative configuration - it is so new that DigiKey doesn't have a datasheet yet. It is a bit cheaper than the other candidate.

Re: Printer cable: Oric to DB36?
And the correct name for the 9-pin connector often used for serial ports is DE-9, not DB-9.

Re: Oric-1 RGB to SCART - pin 8?
And the SCART to HDMi converter works too.
It doesn't care if there is 5V or not on pin 8 of the SCART connector.- Sat Feb 09, 2019 4:05 pm

Re: Oric-1 RGB to SCART - pin 8?
Tested a new version of the circuit today, where I've wired Sync to pin 19 of the female SCART connector (since the SCART cable makes it arrive at pin 20 on the other end. Yes - that was it - I now have picture on the TV used for testing: Oric-1_on_TV_20190209_153347.jpg Nice! FWIW, 5V on pin 8 of t...

Re: Oric-1 RGB to SCART - pin 8?
Yes, I'm thinking that the problem is that the TV don't get sync, and I think it has to do with the SCART cable, as I mentioned in an earlier post. So now I'm making a new PCB with sync going to pin 19 of the female SCART connector on the PCB. The cable will make the sync signal arrive at the pin 20...

Re: Oric-1 RGB to SCART - pin 8?
Tried with pin 18 connected to ground - no change. The my PCB has a female SCART connector, and the SCART cable I use is fully wired, like this: http://pinouts.ru/VideoCables/VideoTvScart_pinout.shtml So pins in the are crossed like this 17 - 18 18 - 17 19 - 20 20 - 19 these pins are also crossed in...

No, not a direct cable, I used this schematic http://www.defence-force.org/computing/ ... verter.gif

Re: Oric-1 RGB to SCART - pin 8?
No, the sync is combined. I think I mentioned it earlier in this thread, the schematic is basically a copy of the "Oric to scart video converter" found here http://www.defence-force.org/computing/oric/hardware/video/ since this is going into a SCART connector, it doesn't make sense (to me ...

Re: Oric-1 RGB to SCART - pin 8?
OK, I made the circuit (actually made a PCB for it and milled it on a small PCB mill we have at our makerspace). When connected to a TV via SCART, I have a picture. Unfortunately, the picture rolls (unable to "lock" onto VSync?). Perhaps this means that my Oric-1 needs repair? I don't know...

Re: Oric-1 RGB to SCART - pin 8?
Yes, I know, but it is easier to get at +5V - I already have that on the PCB. If I need higher voltage I'll just redesign the schematic with with a 5 V regulator (from 9 or even 12 volts).

Re: Oric-1 RGB to SCART - pin 8?
Thanks for the information.
For now I wired pin 8 of the SCART connector to + 5V with a jumper. Then I can try unconnected or with + 5 V at least.
